I have been passionate about adornment as far back as I can remember. As a child I was mesmerized by the Egyptian wing of our local Museum, and a special exhibition on Pompeii when I was nine made a particular impression on me. Frozen in time. Weathered beauty.
At The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, I studied Art History, Stained Glass, Architecture and Jewelry Design ~ Parrish Relics are symbols of everything that inspires me along the way. Every Parrish Relics design is individually handcrafted in my studio with the elements of resilient polymer clay, stained glass, semi-precious stones, scented resins and glass vessels. Hand painted with layered patinas of antiqued silver or gold for a romantic, time worn presence. Finished with beaded or antiqued brass plated chains.
I enjoy creating designs that tell visual stories and start conversations, that are more than simple adornment. I like to think of them as Charms & Talismans that also bring a bit of Magic & Beauty to the daily wardrobe.
Over the years I have been lucky enough to create for some of my favorite writers, museums & the entertainment industry, and for romantics who daydream about Venice, obsess over flora and fauna, admire Medieval oddities, worship Pre-Raphaelite Bohemians or just enjoy a well adorned fairy tale. Head over to Relics Get Around or the Pinterest Page to see where Parrish Relics have appeared.
Thrilled to be living in the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts as a recent transplant from Boston, now enjoying rural life with my long lost love, two city cats, one fluffy rescue dog and one feral cat who mysteriously appeared one day. Frog Hollow is a dream come true ~ our treehouse-like home by a stream, happily surrounded by grey fox, porcupine, bear, deer and so much more in this fairytale-like forest.
Giving Back Collection ~ I am a supporter of animal rights, try to use my work to help them in any way that I can, and greatly admire the people who devote their lives to make theirs better and safer from harm.
